Congratulations!!! My wife and I recently celebrated our 28th year together and I celebrated my 28th year as an Ileostomate! An Ostomy is for LIVING!!!!
Response:
Yes, Susan, I remember how "freaked out" you were. You’ve come a long way, lady! I’m happy for you. I may have to face Remicade in the not too distant future myself. Any problems? BTW, I am approaching my 3rd anniversary in July. I’ve never been as healthy. My only problem now is to STOP eating! I was at Mick’s the other night and ordered "Fried Green Tomatoes" (if you’ve never had them, and there’s a Mick’s near you, you MUST do it!). I took one look at that huge plate and said "I can’t eat half of that." Guess what! I CAN’T BELIEVE I ATE THE WHOLE THING! It was the most fun I’ve had out of bed! Love & Peace, Connie
Response:
Susan, Congrats! Hey, my spell checker says that should be Contrast!. I guess that’s because of the contrast between the worried uninformed Susan and the knowledgeable Susan who takes the dips in the road in stride. Congrats, Susan. Yes, I remember how freaked out you were. BTW, I had my 6th anniversary for a colostomy on June 2, made necessary due to rectal cancer and have had no problems. Hard to believe time passes so quickly. Wishing you all the best. Hi everyone! Can you believe my 2 yr. ostomy anniversary is here already? I don’t have any problems with it to speak of. Still battling the CD – have Remicade every 10 weeks and some female problems to keep an eye on. Does anyone remember how freaked out I was? What happened to eMi? She was recovering when I had surgery. I went to Florida last week and had no problems with all the heat and humidity. Life isn’t too bad…I have "ostomy moments" but they pass quickly. Susan
