re-test psa/down
Question:
JK, Thanks. That’s my guess. And once again, before that test I will not ride the bike. I’m also going to explore nutrition in the meantime. Thanks for your good wishes, and good luck to you ! Ed
– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I had posted earlier with a concern of a PSA of 5.4 a few weeks ago. I took levaquin for about 18 days, and was retested Wednesday. My internist called me this morning and the results were 1.9. That’s a about .1 higher than a while ago, but better than what it was. I have an appointment for a uro on the 10th, and I still plan to keep it. The only other variable I can think of is I did ride an exercise bike just a few hours before the last test. I’ll see that the uro thinks on the 10th. I’d like to thank everyone who commented and offered advice. Ed My guess is the Uro will ask you for another PSA in 6 months…. good luck! — JK Sinrod Sinrod Stained Glass Studios www.sinrodstudios.com Coney Island Memories www.sinrodstudios.com/coneymemories

– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Steve, Thanks. I know many discount the exercise bike. But, as I said, I’m seeing the URO on the 10th. We’ll see what he says. And no matter what anyone says, I’m not exercising the day of my checkup. Ed Well Ed, it doesn’t look like you qualify for membership here, but you are certainly welcome to hang around this great group of guys (and occasional gal). You do have a prostate problem, but it is not likely to be cancer. And the exercise bike was not a factor (according to Dr. Patrick Walsh). Any physical stimulation of the prostate will increase your PSA score, including the DRE. So depending on where the bicycle seat rubbed, it could definitely have contributed to your elevated PSA score. Ed Friedman
