KL Hope everything went well Kathy 1 Yes, everything went well…a bit more pain than I expected, and the tumor they removed ended up being bigger than they thought, but at least it was benign.

Congrats. Thank goodness! I know I’m stating the obvious but . . . cancer sucks, it really really sucks. Kathy 1 Ain’t that the truth. A family friend is dying from it, and it is so hard to see her suffer so much. I think if it were me I would have given up and let it take it’s course, but she is starting more chemo this coming week. I don’t know if I could do it. KL
I stand in awe of the challenges some people are capable of meeting. The husband of a long-time friend was diagnosed more than 10 years ago with an invasive, inoperable cancer of the brain. His prognosis was poor, at best. He underwent whatever treatment they could offer. When he could no longer drive himself to work, his co-workers organized a car pool. When he could no longer do his original job, his employer found him another one. When he could no longer do that, he resigned. Only now is he coming to the end of his road. One week ago, as his wife prepared to begin a medical leave for his final weeks, she had three strokes. By the time I spoke with her last Wednesday, her peripheral vision had cleared and she was anticipating her return home to her husband. She was as feisty as ever, ready to roll right over whatever gets in her/their way. I’m afraid I would have bailed on myself some time ago, in his circumstances. I haven’t a clue what I would have done in hers all these years. J.
