Question:

Hi everyone. I am new to this newsgroup and hoped some of you might be able to help. My weight has gotten way out of proportion and I would like to return to the Atkins diet with which I had some success before. Besides this group, can anyone suggest any *good* recipe sites to me. I am basically starting from the beginning and am new to all this. Thank you! Doug

I kept all meats naked while in induction–naked chicken breasts, naked pork chops, naked steak/roast.  Just some of the herbs and spices we like and then grill it outside or with George Foreman.  That makes it sooo easy and whenever we want something else, like for dessert we have diet rootbeer with a jigger of heavy cream (just like a rootbeer float).  If we get hungry, we find it is because we had too many carbs.  For instance, I always keep a cauliflower and broccoli raw and bite-sized and dip into some Ranch salad dressing made with heavy cream and mayonnaise. After a few weeks of induction, we have some packaged gravy with some of the meats.  I also make chili with mushrooms instead of beans.  Have not had a break in ketosis. I make stew from meat, gravy, and zucchini.  I adhered to the saying, "Corn is for cattle; potatoes are for pigs." My husband and I do not worry about the scales.  The only need for panic would be if we broke ketosis and we never have.  I think about the doctor telling me if I don’t get my triglycerides down, I could get pancreatic cancer (from which my grandfather died).
