Oral Melanoma
Question:
Our 10 y.o. and much beloved Cricket (black Lab) has just been diagnosed as having an aggressive form oral melanoma… Is this conditional common in black Labs? Are there traditional and or ‘alternative’ treatments modalities that are in any way effective? Many thanks for any and all information and shared communal intelligence! Myrna K.

No However has your dog been around boat yards, or chemicals? Are there traditional and or ‘alternative’ treatments modalities that are in any way effective?
I knew a few dogs that had oral cancers of the tongue and they had part of the tongue removed. Both lived a basically healthy life after. Many thanks for any and all information and shared communal intelligence! Myrna K.
Hope all goes well Tainter – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text –
Response:
Thank you for the good wishes… -Cricket tumor is on the gingival (gum area and upper palate) tissue – No boat yards or exposure to toxic chemicals of any sort (we have two black Labs -Bonney is lightly older ~12 y.o. and quite healthy!)
