VH's new singer is…
Question:
I still have my fingers crossed EVH and DLR can patch it up, get back together and rock the f*cking world again.
call me close mInded but there really isn’t any point in doing anything BUT. The world needs a rock n roll band messiah
Response:
VH as a four piece should pack it in. Finito. Or pull people out of the audience to sing. Next! — x-no-archive: yes

He’s got credibilty, he’s cool, and if Eddie starts to flake, he can punch him out like he used to do with Townsend. I think it’d be a step up from David Coverdale, anyway…

I say Van Halen should break up. I don’t think there’s any use for them anymore. I don’t think Eddie Van Halen is capable of making music that is interesting or relevant to anyone anymore. They had their heyday in the days of big hair and guitar wanking, and those days are over for good. Eddie should break up the band and retire, and when he needs money he can do one of those pathetic Japanese tours that all the wanker big-hair metal guitarists do to get money when nobody else will listen to them. Eddie’s outmoded, outdated, and tiresome, and he hasn’t done anything musically innovative or interesting since Van Halen’s third album. You people should stop looking to Van Halen to do something musical and do it yourselves. If you would stop waiting on Eddie to do something and do it yourselves music would be in a lot better shape than it is now.

Yea, then we can all listen to korn and all that 7 string crap. Sorry, I’ll take VH anyday. — running Linux Mandrake 6.1 and/or BeOS.

THis whole discussion is kinda pointless (pointlessness on the web, who’d have ever dreamed of that) Yopu see at the rate their going, everyone who whnts a turn to sing with VH will get there turn, Its all simple math, theres a finite number of people on earth and at the rate of turnover in Vh, we can all get our shot in due time. Teh same principal applied to being th guitar player in the Red Hot Chilli Peppers ( althought that greedy bastard Fuscante went back for seconds befor the rest of us got our turns)

Why do you assume that I listen to "korn and all that 7 string crap," if I dis VH? Where did I mention my big korn fandom? It doesn’t exist. Korn is the Backstreet Boys pretending to be Nirvana. The problem is that you and people like you keep looking up to these burnouts and expecting them to bring you some good music. They can’t. It’s over for them. Finito. They are burned out old farts. Get off your ass and make the kind of music you want to listen to. Don’t depend on these big shots to do it for you. Eddie Van Halen couldn’t give less of a shit. He’s got his bundle in the bank and he doesn’t give a good goddamn about any of the VH fans who still, for some reason, look up to him to save guitar wank from extinction. If you people want to save guitar wanking from extinction, you’ll have to do it yourselves.

If not DLR, then find another loud and wreckless psycho. It doesn’t matter if he’s an unknown 18 year old, who cares. Forget the margin of mainstream safety they may get by hiring a fossil, they need a frontman with the balls to break the rules of convention, and push the bands limits back over the red line. I’d hate to see VH go down without a fight. Bill

Not to worry though… he’ll have a brain aneurysm or lung cancer from smoking too much wacky weed. It’s already taken a toll on his playing. Hmmm…. which brings to mind whether Keith Richards will audition.
Response:
Rank on Korn all you want. At least they’ve come up with something new in the 90s. You’re not close-minded. IMHO, if DLR doesn’t return, I’d like to see Eddie just do solo instrumental work ala Satriani, Vai, etc. I’ve always wanted him to see him do a solo project anyway!
Response:
DLR will be the only acceptable solution to their current dilemma.
Agreed. Christian

SportThis really does not belong on this N.G but anyway: Daltry does not have the Range, he constantly had problems at some recent west coast WHO show’s. Besides being a lavish Britt he is not as large as people think, the average person can punch out a nose on a 150 lb Popsicle stick (Pete in the 60’s). Those cheapskate Britt guy’s disrespectfully regarded all members of the technical crew as squatter roadies. Interesting they how they are having a hard time booking any union run New York City venues. That British "royalty always royalty" "peasant will always be a peasant" outlook sucked. Joe: former let say *Glue* backline tech and a former Bass/backline Stanley *Remey* Albatross tech (he the most easy going) but has a very bad temper over stuped things) decisions. PS: To bad Sammy got backstabbed he is a cool unrockstar like guy. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – I tried to post this once, but I don’t think it got through… I say Van Halen should get Roger Daltrey. Roth is the best and only way to go here…besides Daltrey is supposedly committed to the reformation of the Who for a new tour and album.
Response:
IMHO, Eddie needs to get his head out of his butt before anyone will be a workable solution to the VH dilemna. He wont let DLR sing like DLR. He wont let Sammy be Sammy. But forces Gary to sing like Sammy Lee Roth. Hmmmmmm!!!!!!!
