Things slowly moving
Question:
– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Hi, I have posted on this group a short while back, that I have bladder cancer, an Urostomy was recommended, but was considered risky as I had one Lung Removed due to Lung cancer 7 yrs ago. I finally had results on the Lung Function assessment I had 2 weeks ago. I spoke with the Lung specialist today. He said he was surprised that my lung function was so good, not too far off what might be expected from 2 lungs, so being active and doing exercise does pay off. But he said the operation still would be very risky due to my paraplegia, but also said that an operation is not out of the question, he was being very cautious, and would write to my Urologist, (who would also do the surgery) to this effect, but did say that the final decision would be made by my Urologist. He also mentioned if an operation was done I might be on a ventilator for several days So, got to that stage, I have an appointment with the Urologist in 3 weeks, I will be writing to his secretary to see if this can be brought forward, for if an operation is decided on would be another few weeks wait, possibly 6 weeks from now away!! So I still don’t yet know whether I will be having an urostomy, but it seems more likely. As long as things don’t deteriorate while I am waiting, as I feel reasonably fit now, but do have odd symptoms. Ray
Fingers are crossed for you Ray. At last something is being done, that at least must make you feel better. All the very best Eve
