happy lowcarb email
Question:
I had a wonderful experience this morning. I’ve posted in several places on the net (in appropriate arenas, of course) how low-carbing is working for me, how easy/hard it is compared to other diets, important things to remember, the role of exercise for me, etc. Every now and then I get email from someone who thinks the diet looks interesting, asking for more information. (Of course, I get those emails saying "You’re gonna DIE!!", but lately they’ve all been saying that Atkins gives you lung cancer, which is basically an impossible assertion.) Anyways, a newbie mailed me a few days ago asking for some of the finer details, which I mentioned briefly, and I of course noted that he should really buy the book, it’s not that expensive and no doubt I’m forgetting to mention something important that experienced lcers take for granted. You know what??? HE BOUGHT THE BOOK!!! I almost had a stroke when he mailed that message to me! A newbie actually went and bought the book, and didn’t try to pick our brains for a collective free copy! This probably isn’t the most scintillating news of the day, but it sure gave me a reason to smile. — Cassie (327/276/152) (June 28, 1999) For email, please use czeps [at] home [dot] com

This probably isn’t the most scintillating news of the day, but it sure
gave me a reason to smile. That is the first thing I did back in August. I started reading the NG – and hearing about this LC thing … and after people started talking about Atkins this and Atkins that. Then there were people at work who have been on it too … I went to books a million and for $6.95 (I think – or was it $4.95) I bought the book. Heck – it was less than 10 bucks … And that is a hell of alot cheaper than a memebership to WW. I don’t have a whole lot of time to go chasing down links on the web … so having a book infront of me to look at all the time is much, much more helpful. We should save this one to post for obstinate newbies who don’t want to fork out the huge sum to go buy their own copy … That is the first thing I did back in August.
