Question:

Both I and a friend have this particular lung cancer. I was treated with Taxol and Carboplatin and for about four days afterwards was violently ill, then ok. My friend ws treated with Gemzar and Cisplatin and has been out of treatment for over two months, but still suffers from severe nausea. Is this normal with these two drugs?

Response:

I am receiving treatment for ovarian cancer with both Taxol and Carboplatin. I take anti sickness drugs after each session and have never had any bad effects, apart from some tiredness and severe hair loss.  Maybe you should ask your oncologist for some help, they really don’t like you to suffer and are usually very helpful, at least here in UK they are.  All the best to you and your friend.
