RA plus Cancer

Categories: Liver Cancer

Question:

Mike-Watch out for Cindy.  She is a notorious chocolate theif.  She has been on the wagon for a while, so expect she will be especially hard to capture.  So fair warning, if your chocolate comes up missing, there should be the first place to look.  (lol) Char "Remember, I’m pulling for ya’.  We’re all in this together."  Red Green

Response:

Jeez, you guys.  I wasn’t after his chocolate….I just wanted to….well….make sure it was safe. You know? Cindy R.

Response:

Hi Mike, hugs, and welcome aboard. You need to watch Cindy very closely as she has been admonished many times by Mama Char for chocolate poaching. It doesn’t make her a bad person. She’s just our Cindy. Come this way to our cyber bar — looks like you could use a stiff cyber drink [a lot of us with these medicines -- it is the only kind we can have] and if Larry is around he will make you your Duckie – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – {{{{Mike}}}}.  Can’t help you with answers but I wanted to welcome you and express my sympathy and support. Stick around – this is a good group of people.  Hide your chocolate (if you have any).  SOME people here might try and trick you into letting them hold it for you. Not ME, but SOME people would! Cindy R.

do any of you have ra and cancer? i was diagnosed with ra about a year ago. i have been taking 20 mg arava and 400 mg of celebex per day and everything has been pretty much ok wuithout much ra pain. i was recently diagnosed with lung and liver cancer. 3 weeks ago i had to start taking chemotherapy (taxol and carboplatin iv’s). the chemo has made my ra pain in feet go out of control, and i can hardly walk. i’m taking oxycontin for the pain but it’s not too effective and gives bad dizzy spells. how long does this last? mine seems to get a little worse each day. has anybody experienced this? any info would be appreciated. i’m new to this site so if you have any info, please respond here or email me at

Mike – I’m sorry to hear you have to endure both of these!  I don’t have cancer, but I did meet a man online once who had both RA and Cancer. I met him in the alt.support.cancer newsgroup. I’m not exactly sure of the name of the newsgroup … but it started with alt.support.  He was from Austrailia and sent me a book he had written which I cannot locate. I was in contact with him when my Dad first was dx with cancer.  This man in Austrailia had two different cancers and also RA. His book is a journey of how he feels he healed himself.  He told me in email, which I also can’t locate, that he feels that the chemo ended his RA because at that time it was in total remission.  I’ll keep looking for the book but maybe the newsgroup would help you.  God Bless…. — Cyberhugs……. Ahhh- I found it!  This is a very old email address (3-17-99) so it may not work anymore but try this: Ross Taylor President, Cancer Support Association of Western Australia Inc. "Cancer Wellness Centre" Author "Living Simply with Cancer" Web Page: www.lifeforce.iinet.net.au Member, National Speakers Assoc. of Australia His name is Ross Taylor and the book he wrote is called:  "Living simply with Cancer" (Olivia Newton-John wrote the Forword and they give all proceeds to cancer support charities) as it is easy to read and may provide some helpful hints for you. — Cyberhugs…….
