What could low NUTRA-FIL count mean?
Question:
I Don’t want to get anyone excited, but I was also treated for Hodgkin’s disease with Chemo and the doctors thought i had a relapse. I went for treatment and found out that I also had a low nutrifil count and found out it was Leukemia (AML). There are many reasons that he could have a low count like that though. Remember: "Expect the worse but hope for the best."
Response:
My brother is 20 months out from his last chemo treatment for second go-round of Hodgkin’s (first time treated with radiation only, second time with chemo only). His NUTRA-FIL count has been at 5,000 but now (at 20 mos out) it’s at 2,300. All other blood work is fine. What could this mean? Doc says to wait six weeks for recheck but we’re worried about leukemia or other cancers. Shed some light, please, so we could understand what may be going on. Thank you. Peace, Donna Sink
