Anyone have any direct experience with hospitals treating colon cancer (bowel resection) in the Fort Lauderdale area?  Everything I’ve read says go to the place that does the most of them. Thanks. Bob

I don’t know about that area.  But I had mine done just recently.  More important than the hospital, is the experience of the surgeon performing the operation.  So if you have the option, find the surgeon with experience in this surgery.  My surgeon did an internship on this surgery. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text –

If possible find a surgeon that belongs to the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons  http://www.fascrs.org/ Then print out the list of questions to ask your doctor at http://www.colorectal-cancer.net/faq.htm .  Also get a second opinion.
