post chemotherapy neuropathy
Question:
Is anyone familiar with neuropathy, loss of dtr’s, and severe leg pain related to chemotherapy treatment? My friend Jeff has all of these problems (especially the leg pain and numbness). He recieved treatment for Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma 3 years ago. I’m not sure what all the drugs were, but I know one of them was Vincristine. None of the doctors around here (KY) seem to have any answers or suggestions to treatment (other than pain medicine). He is only 29 years old, and it is a real shame to seem him hurt like this all of the time. Any knowledge or information would be greatly appreciated. We have also done a lot of research over the net and through the state from the local PDR number. Thanks in advance. Clint

I have peripheral neuropathy in my fingers and toes (as well as my arms). I have been told that it should improve with time, but it looks like the degree of improvement varies from person to person, the type of chemotherapeutic agent used, and the age. Andre

Slight cavaet on the "Evening Primrose" after taking the same for only two weeks my "Estridol Level increased by 200%. And as my disease was 85% estrogen receptor positive, this was NOT good! Elimination of EPO from the list of over 75 suppliments I was taking at the time returned my hormone level to below normal. I’ve had 11 surgeries, 9 chemo cycles (ea from 4-20 treatments), brain rad, Hi-dose+BMT etc……ALL DID ME NO GOOD!! This may not be the case with you or others, but after 7+years of poking, proding, cutting & so-on, I now make ALL treatment decisions!!! Which are now non-toxic only. And like the now famous "Ann Frahm", I’m now proud to be: Mary Robbins
