Ovarian cysts and Clomid

Categories: Cancer Treatment

Question:

Hi all. This is my first time posting, been reading here for about a month, and its been very helpful. This was my first month on Clomid 50mg days 5-9, Im on cd 9 and having alot of abdominal pain. I have a history of ovarian cysts and I was wondering if anyone knew if Clomid makes cysts worst and if so, would my cysts keep me from ovulating? Thanks

Response:

Hi. I’ve taken clomid before and it can actually cause more cysts on the ovaries. You should still ovulate, though.  Pain may be from fluid in the follicles in the ovary.  Bloating is normal too.  I have a "med" wardrobe of stretch waists and big tops because jeans don’ t fit.  Good luck Fern 1 son, 4 yrs (clomid and IUI) many cycles with clomid or fertinex/IUI failed IVF with gonal-F

<<I have a history of ovarian cysts and I was wondering if anyone knew if Clomid makes cysts worst and if so, would my cysts keep me from ovulating? Yes, to both questions!! This is why it is so important to have a baseline ultrasound before starting *each* clomid cycle. -Kay PCOS; hypothyroid 8 clomid (1 mc); 4 Fertinex/IUI (no pg); IVF # 1 (ectopic); 3 FETs (no pg) IVF # 2 (mc) FET #4 transferred 5 this time…. waiting…..think it could work for once?? (lol)

Response:

Clomid is suppose to help you ovulate -release a mature egg into the womb to be fertilized. Clomid can be a form of treatment for your problem, however, the doctor has to monitor the medications, as it is linked to cancer of the uterus in a lot of cases.

Response:

I have mild form of polycycstic ovarian disease. i have been told you dont usually have cycles. although i did  become pregnant almost 5 yrs ago, after being diagnosed.i have not heard anything about this clomid until recently.are you using his treatment now??
