My daughter

Categories: Cancer Treatment

Question:

you first need to tell what type of cancer your daughter has.  My daughter had an optic chiasm glioma and I am sorry to say that thus far the survival rate is in the single digit ratio.  There is little known about this type of cancer and if more people would support pediatric brain tumor reserch more childrens lives could be saved every year.  I hope that your daughter is among the 70%  You and your daughter will be in my thoughts and prayers.  A mother who has been there.   Tammy

Response:

That would depend entirely on the type of cancer your daughter has/had. Certainly some pediatric cancers have cure rates even higher than this. Sadly, though, some are very much lower. What type of cancer was your child diagnosed with? Honna Janes-Hodder Paradise, Newfoundland – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – My daughter is just finishing her last of 4 chemotherapys. I have heard the cure rate among children with cancer is as high as 70%. I would like to know if anyone has heard any recent stats on this.                                            Thanks.

I’m afraid that it’ll be difficult for anyone to comment until you provide more information. What type of cancer did she have? Where? What stage was she? What chemo treatment did she have? How old is she? Any complications? Etc. I wish both your daughter and your the very best of health.
