Essiac tea?!?
Question:
Can anyone produce proof that Essiac tear works? We had some discussion about this stuff on here before, but I never saw any proof that it works. Anyone?
I can’t say it works, I can only say it helps a hell of a lot! Instead of the withered, lifeless corpse that the hospital sent home to die, my Mother is energetic, busy, and has seen her tumours reduce in mass. No its not cured, but she has the doctors shaking their heads. They never saw such an active terminal patient before. She doesn’t have a single operable tumour. Instaed she has lymphoma , and it was far advanced before they knew it was there. They had been treating her like a old lady with gastritus for about a year.

And when you get answers to it from Essiac proponents, look for cases of pathologically confirmed cancer, that was measureable at the initiaion of Essiac therapy, and which was treated only with Essiac, and for which the dissapearence of tumor was objectively confirmed by appropriate tests. Let me say that it is possible that documented cases do exist, but this is what you need to look for. I’d advise you to look for clinical studies published in the medical literature. Only I’m pretty sure there aren’t any. And be sure to completely ignore any claims that Essiac was suppressed and other political arguments, as all such arguments are totally irrelevant to the question of what evidence supports the claim that this is an effective treatment for cancer. -Steve Dunn

If by proof you mean clinical, double blind studies? I cannot answer that. If by proof you mean the potential efficiency of the individual herbs involved? In this case the essiac herbs have a long history of use in folk medicine. Folk medicine is the medicine humanity grew up with throughout the ages. If folk medical information is correct (or even partially correct) then there is a good chance these herbs will do what they have done for thousands of years. Heal. The question is …how sick someone is, do they really want to change their lifestyle and diet? Maria from The Herb Garden
