Diabetic Neuropathy–Info Please
Question:
Hi! We are seeking info for a family friend who was recently diagnosed with diabetic neuropathy. He’s 62 and lives in Florida. He also has severe cardio vascular problems and swelling in legs. Doctors considered angioplasty on legs to alleviate pain and swelling but discovered neuropathy and said nothing more could be done. We’re hoping something can be done to help him! We found useful info online/on the web for a friend w/cancer and am hoping I can find something helpful for this man. reasons AOL has yet to explain, so e-mail would be appreciated.
There are drug trials going on at various locations with treatments to try to correct neuropathy by new means. Go to: http://www.centerwatch.com and look under "Drug Trials" (upper left button), then endocinology or Neurology to get to the list. If a test site is in his area it might pay for him to call them and see if they need volunteers. It MAY only get him a placebo treatment, since it IS a double blind study, unless it’s in a later phase already, but they DO provide the drug and treatment free of charge. Ted Quick
