any advice re termite treatment?
Question:
Thanks, Larry, for the specific treatment recommendations. Re air and water quality – it seems reasonable to assume that any liquid evaporates into the air to some extent, and that any liquid used in the soil or where rain can wash it into the soil, will eventaully get down into the ground water. Usually we’re talking about trace amounts – but I’d rather not drink any of it, given the choice – or have my neighbors drinking it, either. Perhaps termite treatments are normally done in some way that succeeds in avoiding this. If so, that will be good news.
Part of the making of termiticides is it’s ability to bond to soil and the Termidor tests to bond better than most, if that helps

I’m alarmed about potential cost of treatment and also that it will be hazardous to our water system and to the air quality in the building. Any advice to offer? TIA And DDT causes cancer? Why would it be hazardous to your water system or air quality if it is applied as it suppose to be, by a professional? I would go with one of the newer liquid treatments that is out Termidor first choice, Premise second choice. Baiting programs are more environmentally friendly, but will cost twice as much if not more and I have lost faith in them myself as being an effective treatment, especially at the cost. Lar
