Spastic like rumbling?

Question:

- Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – O It’s probably irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). If you went to a doc with those symptoms, you’d likely be told to eat more or less fiber in your diet (whichever would be the opposite of what you’re eating now), and cut down on milk and caffeine, if you consume any. Not to belittle anyone with IBS, because many with it suffer greatly, but it’s not in itself a condition that will get a lot of attention from most docs. Nor should it. I’m not belittling it, either – I’ve had it for 20 years, and while it’s not fun, it’s never dangerous nor leads to a serious disease. See a doctor just in case, though; it could even be you have an easily treated and cured condition! That’s the bad part about IBS (well, that and it can hurt a lot) is that no one knows what causes it or even how many kinds there are, so there is no cure. If you are diagnosed with IBS, however, there are a variety of ways to control it, such as diet, mentioned above, and various pharmaceuticals, to name the most common therapies. Chances are great that if you have it, there is something that will help you.  I have had IBS since I was 16. It has made my life hell at times, it seems to flare up during stress. What I do now is, I bought a hotwater bottle with a tube to shoot water up the butt. The proper name escapes me right now. Whenever I have cramps, or the runs, I use it , and it helps more than any medication. Same for me. This is called enemas. They are very efficient, and, to my opinion, a lot less dangerous as most medication. It may be a good thing to add salt to the water though, slightly more salt than what you have in blood serum, that is, 9 grams per liter. Use 15 g/l instead. Ya, thats the word I was looking for. I never heard about using salt. I use to use suppositories, but I no longer need them.

The best thing I have done to give myself a healthy gut and eliminate the daily, sometime 4-5 a day enemas (as when I was fighting parasites), was to do the parasite kill (took 3 months) and then start taking several rebuilding supplements for the stomach and intestines. I take Ultro Flora Plus DF by Metagenics, includes lactobacilus acidophilis and bifido bacterum infantis (the good bugs); also, Azeo-Pangen by Metagenics (pancreatic enzymes); and Intestamine by Amni, containing amino acids, L-Glutamine and more for re-establishing healthy intestinal flora.  My MD prescribed these supplements following a detailed study of my stool specimens sent to Great Smokies Diagnostic Laboratory.  Although the lab never were any help regarding my parasite problem, they had many suggestions for healing my sick gastro-entestinal system. I believe anyone would benefit from the "rebuilding" routine.  And–I believe there are probably other similar products out there that could do the job equally well.  A life time of bad habits and even an occasional use of antibiotics, plus laxatives, enemas, and chronic diarrhea will do a bad number on needed intestinal flora and needed enzymes. By the way, IBS CAN be dangerous when there is laxative use with obstructions, and a resultant perforated bowel with peritonitis, etc.  Not ALL IBS complaints are benign.  Even my doctor gets angry when the IBS diagnosis is casually and readily stuck on most chronic colon complaints. Polyps and cancer all too frequently follow an intestinal history of constipation, irregulaity, and the habitual use of laxatives!  I have not used an over-the-counter laxative in over six years.  If laxative-acting foods, and bran for fiber don’t take care of the problem; then I know a day of enemas may be required.  And don’t forget to add the sea salt to the enema water (about 1/2 tsp for a quart).  If I’m doing a series of enemas, I don’t add the salt for every one of them.   Donna B.

Anyone have any clue as to what I might be facing. To compound my situation, I don’t have any medical insurance. I’m a 42 year old male. Thanks in advance to anyone who can offer me advice. R.B
