AAAAACCCKKKKKKK!!!! I don’t mean to discourage you darlin’, but I was on that for about a month. I HAD to go off of it, because it made me gain massive weight. Well, for me anyway. In less than 2 wks, I went from 136lbs to 159lbs. Like I said, I didn’t stay on it long after I realized what was going on. It also gave me one hell of an appetite, and I’m a lover of junk food as it is. It depressed me beyond belief…..but anyway, just thought I’d put my 2 cents in. BUT DON’T GO OFF OF IT!!!! I’m just warning you now, who knows it may not do it to YOU, but I’ve never had a medication yet that has made me gain weight except for Doxepin. And I’ve heard from alot of people that Carbamazepine caused alot of weight gain for them, but not me at all. I had to go off of it because of kidney damage, but after that bout with my honey, I think I’ll go back but on a lower dose…..Anyway, I’m droning again, so I’ll take off now

Hiya, hermit
Yes, you CAN have both. I know it would really suck to have both, but yep, it could be both. They are VERY similar, my pdoc was treating me as a bi-polar 2 (hypo-mania) but I’m not. The meds he gave me for it made me violent. There’s not a mania bone in my body. lol. Sometimes I wish I would have an episode or two to get my butt movin’. lol. I went in an insisted on talking to his nurse today and I got her to give me something else for sleep. I guess it’s a Tricylic it’s called Doxepin. I hope it works. I’ll let you know tomorrow
I’m not so sure about giving up the "sticks". The patches cost twice as much as the cigs and I can’t do it by myself. Any how we’ll see. Take care. The other hermit "Chaotica76" <chaotic…@home.com> wrote in message

Hey, where did everybody go? I’m going to TRY to stop smoking. I’ve been able to quit all the other bad habits like drinking andor drugs, but to quit cigs is a whole other story. I have failed many times in the past. Anyone ever quit successfully before? Oh, Nikki, I was wondering if you are bi-polar also. Just wondering. From some of the things you have said it kind of sounds like periods of mania. Catch ya later. Michele

Hi Michele
) Umm. Well, before I was officially diagnosed with BPD, my pdoc originally thought it WAS bi-polar. But after a couple weeks in the psych ward and some more ’studying’, he thought that my highs and lows were happening too quickly (several times a day), and I guess with bipolar, the mood swings aren’t as frequent (supposedly every couple days to weeks). So I don’t know. If we’re talking genetics, at least 2 of my aunts on my mother’s side are bipolar, so it MIGHT be a possibility. I have alot of the same symptoms as bipolar, but it’s the frequency of the symptoms that I’m not sure about. Is it possible to be bipolar and BPD at the same time? It seems to be difficult to me, because the two illnessess have alot of similarities, as far as I can tell. So you’re trying to quit the cancer-sticks are ya? Yeah I’ve been saying that for a while too hehehhe. I’ve got this cough that’s driving me up the wall and back down again, not to mention the stuff that comes WITH the cough.EEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWW. But anyway, good luck with the quittin’
) hope it works out for ya! Don’t mind me, I was just getting a little TOO involved with the cross-post situation. People like the ‘doc’ piss me off when it comes to helping people out and just to have someone put them down for their individual problems…….grrr. Anyway, I’m off for now. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!! Don’t feel bad, I tend to be a drag sometimes too. I spent my b-day alone while my hubby went to visit his family in Virginia on Aug 22nd…..I was 21! I hope you did or do something really special for yourself! I took a day off housework, had a long bubble-bath and vegged out on Christian Slater movies lol. Well, as much as I could with a 2 year old daughter biting my ankles but hey, what can you do? LOL Happy Birthday to you!! Frenchie
Response:
Because I am being a drag and not wanting to do anything with anybody on my I haven’t celebrated my birthday in I don’t know how long its just another day to me. Of course if it weren’t for my kids I wouldn’t celebrate half the holiday’s there are either. I hate being around people. Nikki

Thanks Frenchie. My daughter just turned 21 in July. She celebrated her b-d in Spain. Spent my ‘day’ alone on the couch, between watching TV and sleeping. Sleeping wastes time for me. My family tries but they are probably on the verge of giving up on me. Don’t blame them at all. Glad you treated yourself good. You’re too young to be this way. pollyanna

The only one I celebrated this year was Thanksgiving, and I’m not sure why. Other than that it’s been years since I celebrated with the in-laws or anybody. (Except X-Mas eve, still can’t get out of that one.) I’ve even given up on X-mas day too. Funny thing is, I don’t really mind people, I just don’t want to be around them??????? pollyanna

Hi. Been gone for a few days. Too uninterested to talk. Because I am being a drag and not wanting to do anything with anybody on my b-d, my hubby is having a grand old time at the 100th anniversary of Harley-Davidson in Milwaukee. He was offered a free ticket and went with a few friends. Dang. He is sitting there listening to the Doobie Brothers, Tim McGraw, Kid Rock, and, believe it or not, Elton John just walked on stage! Dan Akaroid(?) is the master of ceramonies. The only good thing about today is that I’m only half as old as Harley, LOL! pollyanna
