– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Can anyone tell me what the symptoms are for Lyme’s disease? Or any other common dog illness? Something just isn’t right with my 16-month old Lab mix. I won’t go into the details unless you think you might have some advice but basically she walks very creaky in the morning, is often lethargic, doesn’t eat very much, and hacks, especially when she drinks water. It isn’t all the time – sometimes she is still puppy-out-of-control but this morning she was just out of it and it has happened before. Please take your dog to a vet! Did you hear that?  Maybe it wasn’t loud enough….here we go again…. PLEASE TAKE YOUR DOG TO A VET! Got it?  Good! Your dog could have (or not have):  parvo virus, bordetella, heartworm, Lyme, cancer, the list goes on.  Good luck… Marjorie Inden

Lots of diseases can demonstrate symtoms such as you have.  Please have your dog checked by your vet promptly. One problem that is particularly worrisome to me, as I’ve lost one dog to it and have another showing first symtoms, is congestive heart failure.  Your dog is very young for that to be the case, so it wouldn’t be my first bet, but I’m not a vet. I hope it is nothing serious and she feels better real soon!  Best to you both.
