The Book CANCER S.O.S., An endorsement by Paul I. Roda M.D.

Categories: Cancer Patients

Question:

To Whom This Concerns,     " Ms. Welsh and Ms. Grandahl have written an excellent guide for anyone facing the diagnosis of cancer.  It describes how they should evaluate their physicians and potential treatments.  There are excellent chapters regarding nutrition, the mental battle against cancer, and the like.      My only complaint is that the book is written as a guidebook for women alone-much of this book is equally valid for the male facing a diagnosis of cancer."                                                       Sincerely,                                                  Paul I. Roda,  M.D., FACP For more endorsements and additional information about the book, see our web page at http://www.cancersos.com

Response:

I though there was no advertising on this net or does it only apply to alternative products not doctors products and publications?

For a clarification — I was not paid for this endorsement. I don’t think a single advertisement is bad (nor have I objected to such). However, when the same advertisement reappears on a daily basis, that’s a complaint of a different color. I would like to make it clear that I have endorsed this book — it’s excellent. I did so in a letter to be included on their web page, I would advise any person facing cancer to obtain it. I also want to make clear that this is NOT a paid endorsement. I am not making any money from recommending this book either to my patients (I loan a copy to new consults) or from recommending it on the web. If this posting gave the impression that it was put up by Dr. Roda, I apologize.  I sent Dr. Roda the book and asked for his critique and endorsement if he felt the book had any merritt.  He sent the above endorsement back and I posted it on the two groups.  If this is wrong, I again apologize.  We have been told by several cancer patients as well as medical professionals, that it is one of the best books they have ever seen on cancer by a cancer patient.  Rose is not a writer of any other books but simply wrote this "guide book for women with cancer."  After 9 cancer related surgeries in 7 years, and being misdiagnosed by 2 oncologist and a gyn, she felt she had some experience to draw from and as she said, " I don’t want anybody to go through what I have been forced to go through."  She doesn’t favor any form of treatment over any other. She has had both conventional treatment, surgery and chemo, as well as alternative treatment, including essiac, which she still takes.  When you are fighting the battle with cancer, we feel you simply need to be informed about all the possibile options.  Don’t go blindly down any path without doing all the research possible.  Cancer is an evil disease that in many cases, takes no prisoners.  In other cases, you may be a prisoner to it for life.  Again sorry if I gave the wrong impression, but I have to leave and brew some more Essiac for Rose.  By the way, it is foul tasting stuff, you have to admitt that.
