Update on Harrison #2

Categories: Cancer Hospital

Question:

*sigh*   Well after running the cat-scans, the ENT has decided that Harrison needs surgery afterall.  He has blockage in the sinus canals, a large cyst of some sort in the right sinus cavity, and several small ones in the left cavity.  So the ENT thinks the only course of action at this point is to do the surgery to remove it all.  The surgery is scheduled for May 8th and he may have to stay overnight. Thanks for listening.. Lee  ::shaking in her boots::: Woo Woo Wooooooooooo!!!

Hi Lee, I can imagine you being taken aback by this. I would be also. But then, it’s not so long ago that you were worried sick about Harrison having cancer. That is, thank heavens, not the case. And although it is very unpleasant having your child in hospital (I had that experience too) now at least it’s sure that something will be done about it and he will be healthy and happy thereafter. As a whole, I should say that this is good fortune rather than bad. Take care! thank heavens, not the case.  well, that still has not been confirmed.  It "appears" not to be, but they won’t know for certain, until the cysts are removed and analyzed.  But I am tending to try and go with the doc on this one and try not to be worried. Though he did frighten me a bit this time.  On our last visit, before the scans, he had decide to just leave the cyst there, unless it was connected to the dental bridge (which it isn’t) as that may have caused problems later on with his teeth.  My GP’s assitant also told me yesterday, that this ENT, is not surgery-happy.  He trys to avoid it if possible.  He just looked so … concerned.. and I’m not sure if it was because I complained about his rotten attitude with our last visit (guess he was having a bad day, long story) OR if it’s something more…  So I am just trying my darndest NOT to think about it…  And although it is very unpleasant having your child

Take care!   Thanks!  Harrison has been hospitalized before, and has also had surgery before (by this same doc) so I am not *too* overly concerned ::says the mommy with GAD:::  ;)       The doctor said this should improve his chronic sinusitis, so THAT *is* a good thing. Love ya!!! Lee Woo Woo Wooooooooooo!!!
