It’s true. After illuminating it with a flashlight, US Army medical doctors concluded that there were no WMDs hidden in Saddam Hussein’s mouth. After issuing an apology, the US released Saddam Hussein and promised to return his dictatorship to him. Donald Rumsfeld said "This has all been a terrible mistake. Of all the known knowns that would eventually become known, who could have known Saddam was telling the truth all along. I’ll bet he didn’t even know." The Iraqi Ministry of Information could not be reached for comment.

The the Democratic presidential candidates, infuriated at this treachery from the right, held a news conference condemning this action. Dean spoke for them all, at least initially. “We will not let this travesty go unpunished. The Republicans are trying to keep us out of a war we should be fighting, that Mr. Clinton wanted to fight, but the hateful right-wing bigots wouldn’t let him. Well, we’re not going to take it! We demand that President Bush and Vice President Cheney resign and hand the reigns over to us at once, so that we can prosecute this war properly. As President, I will personally see to it that we do whatever it takes to free the Iraqi people from this monster!” Unfortunately the speeches were never finished; fights broke out over who got to be president, and all the candidates were taken to the hospital, where they now share a floor with Secretary of State Colin Powell, whom they blame for their troubles. Secretary Powell refused to comment, but one of his aides reportedly wished the candidates "as wonderful a prostrate cancer as Secretary Powell has had".
