This is CHEAP and it WORKS.  Gentian violet applied over the affected area. The disadvantage:  it stains the skin purple for several days.  But it WORKS!! – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -Colloidal silver works well, and can be used as a mouthwash (actually hold it in your mouth as long as possible, then swallow). You can also try grapefruit seed extract (Nutribiotic) in either/both liquid or tablet form. Tea tree oil in a douche or on a tampon works well for vaginal yeast infections. Caprylic acid is also good for internal use, as is garlic tablets/capsules (Kyolic). If it is thrush, you can get rid of it by using Gentian Violet. Midwives recommend it for newborns with thrush. If it’s safe for them, it should be safe for us. There’s a drawback, though. It’s purple liquid, and it stains anything and everything it comes in contact with. So beware! My baby got thrush because I went on the pill when I was still nursing him, and I think I used it for about 5 days, and that was enough. It was gone, and hasn’t come back. I just kept a bib on him, and painted his mouth with it before he napped or went to bed. As far as herbs go, try Myrrh, White Oak Bark, and herbal antibiotics can be used. Use acidolphilus on a daily basis, and add L-lysine to your diet. Use vitamin A, C, and zinc. Use natural vitamins and chelated minerals. A detoxifying fast would also help. Try pau d’ arco tea. Avoid sugar, yeast, and fruit. Use a new toothbrush every 30 days. You can buy a product called NUTRIBIOTIC in most health stores . I have seen this stuff cure very long term candida in short time . In places where folks cannot afford to poison themselves with drugs , Mothers use an infant’s own urine for thrush .
