Everything sounds great Philip! Sorry I have no idea what kind of surgery you are having but I feel you will do great. Just don’t ride "da bike" as soon as you get home! Tono — The charter is available at: http://readystump.algebra.com/~asapm

Awesome that the diabetes II went away after losing weight! I don’t think I ever knew anything about this problem with your dental thing… All will be fine, I’m sure. Make sure to get some decent pain pills, the first day can be a little icky if ya don’t have any. I’ve always preferred medium strength opiates and high potency anti-inflammatory drugs for dental pain control – each situation is different though, obviously. I’ll certainly be looking at the mail to hear that you’re doing ok. Be well, Gary — The charter is available at: http://readystump.algebra.com/~asapm

The oral surgeon alrerady prescribed a NSAID for me. I’m not crazy about them but hopefully this will be effective. – each situation is different though, obviously. I’ll certainly be looking at the mail to hear that you’re doing ok.

So happy to hear you are going to be around for a long time, Phil!! I know the feeling about having tests done. I am overdue going to the doc regarding my thyroid but I absolutely HATE anything medical. I despise going to the doctor, hearing a nurse say OMG when she takes my BP because it is always up when I go to the doctor. I knew you would be ok, however!! Very ironic I feel like that, since my career has always been in the medical field in administration, and I spent much of my time calming fears and reassuring people like me! Thus the saying "Easier said than done." I will be thinking of you on Tuesday and hope you will let us know how you are afterward, when you can, of course. I had a therapist once that told me about an older gentleman that said (approximately, this was a long time ago, and I don’t remember the exact quote, but it went something like..) "I am an old man, and I have suffered many things, most of which never happened to me."
ROFL! I love it! From age twenty or so my grandfather used to tell everybody who wanted to listen (and a growing number of people who didn’t) that he would die soon. At age 82 he was proven right
I am so glad the pre-op test results were good. I hope you can relax a little about the surgery, having that information.

Yep. I don’t even know how many. The *visible* ones are all OK, the others have crumbled in the course of the years and now mainly consist of roots underneath the gum. Interestingly this started when I was first on clomipramine (you know, Anafranil). Because of this TCA anticholinergic side effect of *dry mouth* there is not enough saliva and that causes tooth decay. Of course that can be managed but I am so scared of Da Dentist that I never went to see one (or rather walked out on them before they could become really dangerous
so here I am stuck with this. It took me 15 years or so to muster the courage to finally deal with it, I never had any kind of surgery before BTW). Philip — The charter is available at: http://readystump.algebra.com/~asapm

We can awfulize situations in our minds and worry, and get ourselves so worked up… before we have actual evidence that there is something to be worked up ABOUT. OK, everybody will be relieved that you won’t turn up. If all goes well I’ll be home about four hours after surgery. With Diet Coke drooling outta your face ’cause you’ll be drug dumb.
Nope. No local. Just the gas (thinking of that some of my relatives had a bit of a problem with gas about fifty years ago
It’s my favorite state of being….
LOL. I’m betting that you wake up to nothing, and see/hear nothing – and then sorta go ‘huh?’ and you can’t even hear yourself – and just sorta do nothing. We do what we’re best at, and doing nothing is a fantastic hobby.
It’s a vocation. Practice makes perfekt. You realize, of course, that it’s Wednesday the 7th, and you’re still laying around doing nothing? Good boy! Things went so well that you can’t even remember what you were thinking about before.
That doesn’t sound much different from my usual state of mind. On to: Wednesday’s lunch menu – Two choices – Take it, or leave it.
