Antioxidants during chemotherapy – Medscape

Question:

I haven’t had the chance to read this, but a friend who did said it was a very good (though technical) summary. Medscape requires free registration. Lance ***** DIETARY ANTIOXIDANTS DURING CANCER CHEMOTHERAPY: IMPACT ON CHEMOTHERAPEUTIC EFFECTIVENESS AND DEVELOPMENT OF SIDE EFFECTS Review the promising results of clinical studies on antioxidants such as vitamin E, Coenzyme Q10, and GSH. Response:

I read the article with great interest, I’m a caregiver for my spouse, diagnosed with Stage 4 NSLC June 1999.  We used Vitamin E in the form of Olive Oil and CoQ10 in doses mentioned at http://altmed.od.nih.gov/. However, the article cited below showed, IMHO, that these adjuvant therapies helped but in no great fashion.
