i agree with eva – SK is somewhat overhyped. there are good cancer treatment centers all over the country.  i would not think it neccessary to travel to nyc (if it’s far away). unless, as she said, they have something to offer you that nobody else can. good luck. -christina

If you’re far from here I can’t imagine why you would knock yourself out traveling just to get a 2nd opinion.  I’m a few miles from NYC and haven’t gone to Sloane Kettering.  My grandfather died there, actually, so it has bad associations for me….but people I know who are health care workers and professionals have said the place is somewhat overhyped. This is obviously Just My Opinion.  If there is some specific treatment you have heard about which they offer, which you cannot get at home, then of course that changes the whole picture. Eva

Are you in the New York City area?
