Mary's BMT questions
Question:
Hi everyone, I’m new to this newsgroup. My husband was diagnosed with NHL two years ago and has undergone CHOP chemo treatments followed by a short remission, then a stem-cell transplant last Oct., and now looks like he will have to have a BMT (his brother is a match). What I would like to know is this: what is the best hospital for him to go to for this BMT? Being where he already lost hearing in his left ear, what are the chances that he will loose hearing from the BMT? Are there any other STEM CELL patients that have relapsed, and had a BMT transplant out there?? How did you fare? Please write back and let me know. Also let me know what you all think of the following hospitals: Johns Hopkins, Temple Univ., Dana Farber Cancer Center, Sloan Kettering. I want my husband to go to the best Cancer/BMT unit and try to be as close to home as possible. We live approximately 30 miles north of Philadelphia, PA. Oh, yes, my husband is only 43 years old. Thank You. Mary

Fox Chase is at home and a good center. Univ of Nebraska at Omaha has some of the best experience in NHL, including allogenic and autologous BMT ravi
