Question:

My wife has been diagnosed with microcalcifications, and we can’t find any info on it, besides the definition.  Our doctor wants to perform a biopsy.  Is this normal?  Where can I find more info on what microcalcifications are, and how often they are associated with cancer.   Please either post, or preferrably, copy yo my e-mail address.  Thanks for your help!

I am not a doctor but from what I know from the time when I was diagnosed that it may mean nothing or something because there may be microcalcification that behind it there is a tumor hiding or it may be just microcalcification with no cancer cells involved at all. I never heard about such a diagnosis. Whoever diagnosed your wife, you should ask them what does it mean. Good luck, Aiala
